Hello Gentlemen and few ladies,
My name is Paul and I have been reading Autospies for a long time. I recall those days not so long ago when there was only a weekly newsletter from Autospies on the juiciest automotive news and spy pictures. I am 22, from New York and just graduated with a BBA in Marketing and a minor in economics. I have been an auto enthusiast since I was able to comprehend pictures of cars. I currently reside in a residential tower, just north of Manhattan is Westchester County. I have some pictures in my gallery of some of the traveling I have done around the world and across the country. As you can tell, I am a big party guy and enjoy taking chances and seeking new adventures. There is always a party somewhere, and chances are that I am there. Most recently, I made it out to Vegas and did pretty well at the Wynn, hence the casino chips. Ill be in the Caribbean at the conclusion of the summer, and depending when I start my new job, a quick trip to Europe or South America wouldn’t hurt either. I have my own film production business, so no, I am not some spoiled kid, with wealthy parents, and everything I have earned is mine. Got too love capitalism! I still have more pictures to put up, but this program is seriously archaic, and user unfriendly.
I currently own a 2007 Cadillac CTS and I wish I can tell you all what a great car it is and how much I love it, but that would be a lie. The car handles great, the transmission is incredibly smart and the styling is awesome, but the quality is poor. I have 22,000 miles on the clock and the car has been to the dealer 7 times. The most recent time (last week) was a very expensive repair for GM. They had to replace. They had to replace the front struts, control arms and shock absorbers to stop this incredibly annoying squeak coming from the front end. They also had to tend to the engine light, which resulted in the replacement of the ignition coils and engine coils. Back in March I had to have the rear differential sealed up because it kept leaking fluid, and once again after that because it was still leaking fluid. I believe the car was doomed from the start, because with 200 miles on the clock, two engine censors had to be replaced. GM has been surprisingly helpful throughout the process by communicating effectively with the dealer and myself as well as compensating me financially. The CTS has been a very discouraging purchase, because of its inbility to be a quality performer for me.
Notable Friends Cars:
Obviously I do not have the resources of an Automotive magazine when it comes to test driving cars and really getting some drive time behind the wheel. But my friends do have some notable vehicles, have rode in as well as driven, The most notable being my roommates 07 Range Rover Supercharged Sport, which is an incredibly executed machine. Its visually stunning, smooth, powerful and has good materials inside the cabin along with tons of gizmos and gadgets. It does have a reoccurring problem with the battery dying when left alone for a couple of days. Now that the car lives its life in the bottom of Manhattan parking garage, the battery keeps on dying, gas and matainence are also pretty expensive, he just replaced all four Brembo brakes at the door-busting price of $900, but when your that wealthy, its all in proportion. Another two notable cars are the Infiniti 07 G35x and the 07 FX 35. Both of these cars are beasts with that 3.5 V6. The G35 is super fast, but the throttle is very jumpy, and the ride is too choppy. The Nav system with all the media inputs and information screens is probably one of the best and easiest I have ever experienced. The FX has the older media system but its still a goodie, the voice recognition is not nearly as good, but nonetheless gets the job done. I also have a good friend with a 08 BMW 535xi, great car, super fast, nice interior, but obscenely expensive. There are other cars too, but I do not have enough wheel time behind them to speak for them.
Looking into my crystal ball after the lease is up on my CTS, I have several cars in mind for my replacement, the first on the list being the CTS coupe. Though I have such an obscene amount of problems with my current CTS, the new CTS styling is captivating me into getting another. The closets challenger to the CTS would be the new C350. MB has done an amazing job with exterior design of that car, it looks hot, especially in the sport trim in white, red or black. Unfortunately the interior is not as nice as the exterior, and I never thought id say this, but the new CTS interior, is much nicer looking along and more fun to play with, Also under consideration is the new G35, that car is good looking, bold and has great performance for a great price. I also wouldn’t have to sacrifice engine power for AWD. Though I am not a big fan of BMW’s or Audi’s, naturally I will consider the A5 and 335 coupe. (if I want to go broke)
Well that’s all for now, Ill update when I have a sudden urge to do so. If any of you would like to talk, hit me up, I am a nice guy for the most part.Permalink
